Man I struggle to understand the structure of my blog..I mean the technology of it and I have total Dooce envy who just had an article written about her blog in the NY Times ! She has awesome dogs Chuck and Coco, awesome taste and flair and a life that allows her and her husband to work from home and make kick-ass money from advertisers. So far this pathetic messy blog averages $0.50 in revenue per day from Adsense (totally dodgy ads about Russian girls, bizarre face cream and losing 10lbs in a week). Freedomwife is like a microscopic ugly failure of a toad next to Heather Armstrong’s glittery succesful Comet like blog. Maybe if I had a new husband to fix my blog? Nah I like my husband (today).

This is where I admit that in the world of blogging I am travelling blind. I have no idea what I am doing. My blog is a mess. I am looking for an expert blogger that can help me clean it up…take out bugs, links that go nowhere, shit advertising (but keep the good ones…because I make 4 whole dollars a week with them)…change my header/banner thing.  So if you feel like you are more clued in than me and want to earn some extra cash to fix up my blog. A few days ago I published “Will it Survive and buy me Botox” back when I was writing on Blogger. I’ve taken the plunge and now have my own website! I’ve been working on it all weekend and it’s soooo much harder and demanding than Blogger. My favourite blog is dooce (like everyone else) and I wanted something similar looking (I know I’m not there yet) but I started with contacting hostican…well ..I did not contact them I just purchased a 2 year package, found a coupon for $50.00 (50off-12) and paid with paypal, which I love doing because it almost seems like not spending money. 2 minutes after I pressed the pay button and my mobile phone rang. Let me stress that I live in Switzerland and that hostican lives in the U.S. I almost didn’t answer because I couldn’t tell who it was (paranoid) and it was Ted from hostican checking if I had made a purchase and then he talked me through the first steps. So yes I fell in love with Ted.

But then…I screwed it all up when I tried to change my theme as recommended by bloggeries and ladidah I ended up with a 404 error message. I WASTED hours of my saturday night trying to figure this out while watching failure to launch (very distracting: oh so very handsome) until I finally collapsed with absolutely nothing resolved.

This morning, nothing had been miraculously resolved so I found this little IM tech support thing on hostican and I found myself talking to Steven Moore. Steven Moore is my new hero. He fixed it all and I was back up and running so basically I made this site in a day. Don’t worry I will change the Header. It’s kind of blobby at the moment. I have to stress that hostican went so far beyond my expectations. I’m totally chuffed.

I was just about to sign off and I realise I have not addressed the title of this post. Aside from being fun this blog has a commercial goal. To increase returns by 20% a month. After almost a week of blogging I’m averaging almost one whole dollar a day and in three years I should be able to afford Botox because by then I will be (theoretically)making $25000 a month. So this is fun and games but at the same time I have become a little bit addicted…checking how many people stumble on this site. How many people click on my ads (please click) and why I have strange ads about where to buy jars and trashy ads on how to make a $100′000 with their blog. I can say right now that I make about $1.28 a day with 2 blogs and I spend $7.00 to maybe get some valid traffic. I’m not quitting my day job any time soon. Today I read on problogger that if I work hard and with a bit of luck I can expect my sales to go up 20% a month. So I did a little Excel sheet calculation and in 12 months (provided I don’t give up blogging about immensely interesting subjects) I should be earning $320 a month and in two years $2860 a month (still not enough to quit) and in three years I’ll be 40 years old and earning a sweet $25500 a month and will be able to afford Botox and expensive holidays in Mauritius. This seems a little unlikely so please contribute to my mouthwatering Boulud Burger trip.

So I have not posted in ages. Well my blog was depressing me. I think I was being too honest. I didn’t even want to look at it anymore. So I’m feeling more light hearted and I will make more light hearte posts in my blog. I’m feeling more like an Agatha Ruiz de la Prada handbag rather than a delirious depressed sportsac.

This is from Reuters (can you fucking believe it) - All Peter Pan peanut butter bought since May 2006 should be discarded, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said on Friday in a statement broadening its warning about salmonella-contaminated Peter Pan peanut butter. More than 290 people from 39 states have become ill in the food poisoning outbreak, and 46 have been hospitalized, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported.
Wait a second…if they are recalling Peter Pan peanut butter sold from May 2006 until now….why are people only getting sick now? How did they only find out now? Don’t they do Batch testing?
ConAgra Foods Inc., which makes Peter Pan, said earlier it was checking the source of the contamination, which may have also affected the Great Value label peanut butter it makes for retailer Wal-Mart.

The last major outbreak of salmonella food poisoning in the United States was in November and was linked to tomatoes. It made 183 people ill in 22 states and Canada. Then there was the Spinachy thingy.

“If we cannot protect the nation’s supply of peanut butter, one must ask how prepared we are for a terrorist attack on our nation’s food supply,” Michigan Democratic Rep. Bart Stupak said on Friday. Does anyone care? I don’t. I mean I don’t care about peanut butter.
